Background:

The USAID Africa Trade and Investment (ATI) Activity aims to enhance trade and investment between Africa and the United States. As a key initiative under the Prosper Africa program, ATI focuses on expanding and accelerating two-way trade and investment across the continent.

Position Description:

The Activity Associate will play a crucial role in supporting the management of large multi-year buy-in activities. Responsibilities include providing technical and management support, coordinating resources, and ensuring compliance with USAID regulations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and track buy-in activity implementation progress
  • Support the development and review of technical deliverables
  • Assist in matters related to contractual, operational, and financial aspects
  • Contribute to the development of calls for applications/proposals
  • Provide assistance to grantees and subcontractors
  • Ensure compliance with USAID regulations and DAI procurement policies
  • Coordinate with implementing parties for MEL data capture
  • Assist in policy guidance and interpretation
  • Support technical evaluation committees and proposal budget review
  • Assist in grant/subcontract invoice review and financial reporting

Reporting:

The Activity Associate will report to the Activity Manager.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7+ years of operations/facilities management or finance experience
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience on a USAID funded project
  • Familiarity with USAID rules and regulations
  • Strong office management and communications skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of internal controls and audit processes
  • Proficient in English report writing
  • Excellent interpersonal and personnel management skills
  • Previous experience with DAI policies and systems preferred
