Over the last five years, the African Development Bank has organized Business Opportunities Seminars (BOS) twice a year; one in the Spring and one in the Fall, physically at its Abidjan headquarters and at a Bank regional office, or virtually. The aim of these sessions is to help strengthen the relationship between the Bank, its shareholders, and the private sector from Bank Group member countries. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, since 2020 the Bank moved to an online format, which has expanded the reach of the event. In person seminars may resume in 2024 and further details will be shared in due course.
For potential partners, the BOS is a one-stop forum for companies, consultants, contractors, manufacturers, and suppliers to meet with Bank Group sector and regional specialists, network with other consulting firms and equipment suppliers in RMCs and Non-RMCs of the Bank Group and gain a better understanding of the Bank’s priorities and its procurement procedures. Attendees learn about the Bank Group’s strategic direction, operational priorities, project pipeline, ongoing sovereign, and non-sovereign operations.
These seminars increase interest and enhance competition for African Development Bank-financed projects, thereby promoting higher-quality offers that deliver optimal value for money for its regional member countries. These events have proven to be an excellent opportunity for Bank experts to network with suppliers and service providers from various sectors, including energy, environment, finance, agriculture, transport, water, urban development, health, and education.
The African Development Bank Group is pleased to announce its upcoming Business Opportunities Seminar (BOS), taking place on 29 May 2025 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire on the sidelines of its Annual Meetings. The event will be livestreamed on the Bank’s YouTube and LinkedIn channels.
