The International Rescue Committee (IRC) seeks an Audit Intern to support audits of IRC locations and functions, ensuring the adequacy and effectiveness of operating processes and controls. This internship offers an opportunity to contribute to humanitarian efforts in a global organization.

Job Overview

The Audit Intern will assist in audit planning, conduct location and functional audits, and adhere to professional standards and ethical principles.

Major Responsibilities

  • Support audit planning, including information gathering and sample selection.
  • Assist in location and functional audits as well as special reviews.
  • Maintain adherence to professional auditing standards.

Job Requirements

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Basic knowledge of auditing principles and techniques.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.

Certificates or Licenses: CPA/CA or ACCA, or actively pursuing one of those certifications.

Language Skills: Fluency in French is a plus.

Preferred Experience & Skills

  • Experience in data analysis.
  • Understanding of internal controls and business processes.

Working Environment

  • Standard office working environment based in Nairobi, Kenya, with hybrid remote options.
