Intern, Disaster Risk Management

Application Deadline

The intern will work with Environmental Sustainability Division and will focus on supporting the Division to deliver on its disaster risk management (DRM) and climate resilience objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support for project preparation, implementation and management
  • Research and data collection on DRM and climate resilience

Intern, Economics

Reporting directly to the Statistician, the Intern is accountable for assisting in the compilation of data and statistics on the productivity and life years lost due to gun-violence in the Bankโ€™s Borrowing Member Countries.

The tasks will include, but not be limited to:

  • collecting, storing, and analysing data, as identified by authors, for the research project;
  • liaising with CDB staff, particularly ED and Projects Department, to supplement information and obtain explanations as required;
  • preparing timely tabulations, statistical analyses and graphical presentations for CDBโ€™s publications produced by ED and as requested from other Departments;
  • preparing and visualising the related statistics using modern statistical packages;

Intern, Secretariat

It is expected that the Intern will enhance and streamline the Officeโ€™s data management and Board management systems and processes to promote greater efficiency in the exchange of information between the Office and its primary stakeholders, the Boards and staff.

Responsibilities of the Intern will include, but are not limited to, the following tasks:

  • Supporting communication activities between the Secretariat and its stakeholders i.e., members of the Boards, Board sub-committees and CDB staff;
  • Assisting with content updates for the Board portal;
  • Assisting with updating and managing the Secretariat electronic document management and archival system

Intern, Human Resources

The Intern will support the ongoing digitalisation and organisation of our Human Resources records. The intern will play a key role in helping to improve the structure and accessibility of digital files through proper naming conventions, cataloguing, and file storage practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, organise, and catalogue existing online HR files to ensure consistency and ease of access.
  • Apply standardised naming conventions and file structures across online documents.
  • Work closely with HR team members to ensure proper classification and tagging of documents.
  • Support planning and coordination of employee wellbeing activities and initiatives.
  • Assist with logistical and administrative aspects of training and development events (e.g., scheduling, materials preparation, tracking attendance).
  • Provide support to the recruitment process, including reviewing applications, scheduling interviews, and preparing onboarding materials.

Intern, Economic Infrastructure

The intern will assist staff members in the Economic Infrastructure Division with:

  • Organising information, using the Bankโ€™s enterprise content management and business intelligence tools;
  • Conducting research;
  • Writing documents; and
  • Other day-to-day work, as assigned.

Intern, Internal Audit

This opportunity exposes prospective young professionals to on-the-job training regarding internal auditing, particularly within the multilateral development bank environment. The successful intern will:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the internal audit function, its relevance to governance, risk management and internal control and the audit cycle process including planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Assist in completing audit engagements, performing risk assessments, data analysis, and identifying control weaknesses, anomalies and potential risks.
  • Assist in Management Action Plans (MAPs) reviews, updating and analytics

Intern, Integrity, Compliance & Accountability

The role of the Intern is to support the work of the Institutional Integrity, Compliance and Accountability functions with/to:

  • conduct relevant research and produce research reports including ICAโ€™s history and information to promote ICAโ€™s work and visibility on all media;
  • the internal review of its current procedures conduct of special initiatives to review and update records;
  • prepare and present training;
  • integrate new technologies, into the way ICA conducts its work; and
  • assist as necessary with ICAโ€™s preparations to co-host the IAMnet Annual Meeting 2025.
