Job Summary

The Communications Coordinator will be responsible for the successful design and implementation of FH Kenya Marketing & Communications Strategy. Serve as a technical backup for the field office program team in the areas of branding, visibility, public relations, internal communication, media engagement, events management, and so on.

Principal Responsibilities

Key Result #1 – Marketing and Visibility

  • Design and implement the country Communication Strategy Framework aligned with program interventions.
  • Assist program team in preparation of communication and visibility reports.
  • Work with program teams on marketing and visibility budgets.
  • Ensure adherence to FH and donor branding and marking rules.
  • Engage in the production of audio-visual materials for marketing FH Kenya interventions.

Key Result #2 – Public Relations

  • Develop and update FH Kenya website and social media pages.
  • Monitor trending issues on social and mainstream media.
  • Strengthen FH Kenya’s external relations and visibility in relevant public forums.

Key Result #3 – Digital Asset Creation and Management

  • Prepare program/project success stories, pictures, and videos.
  • Train field staff on report and success story preparation.
  • Ensure quality and professionalism of all communications materials.
  • Spearhead internal and external communication efforts.

Key Result #4 – Representation

  • Organize public events and conferences.
  • Serve as the Kenya focal point for communications matters.


  • Full agreement with FH’s Christian foundation and beliefs as expressed in “The Heartbeat”.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time per year.
  • Evidence of good communication skills.


  • Alignment to FH Heartbeat values.
  • Computer operating skills including proficiency in Google platforms, Microsoft Office products, and virtual technologies.
  • Experience in developing or contributing to accountability frameworks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity.
  • Superior writing skills in English and Kiswahili.
  • Graphic design skills and brand management experience.
  • Experience in public relations and communication strategies.
  • Knowledge about core humanitarian standards.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, Journalism, International Relations, or related fields.
  • At least 5 years of related work experience, preferably with an international NGO.

Language Skills

Proficiency in both spoken and written English.
