About the Role:

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is leading a consortium in implementing the EU-funded BORESHA NABAD program across Mandera, Kenya, Dollo Ado, Ethiopia, and Gedo, Somalia. They seek a Consortium Communications Coordinator to develop and implement the project’s communication and visibility plan, coordinating with partners and ensuring compliance with DRC and EU guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the project’s communication and visibility strategy.
  • Coordinate consortium communications meetings with partner focal points.
  • Create content for the project’s website and social media platforms.
  • Track media coverage opportunities and undertake media monitoring.
  • Develop communication materials and templates for field staff and partners.
  • Provide technical support in the procurement of communication materials.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • University degree in communications, journalism, international relations, or relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in communications strategy development and implementation in a consortium setting.
  • Strong graphic design skills and proficiency in Adobe and social media tools.
  • Photography and video editing skills required.
  • Excellent consortium coordination skills.
  • Fluency in written and oral English required.

What We Offer:

  • Contract: 1-year contract with the possibility of extension.
  • Salary: in accordance with DRC’s Terms of Employment, Non-Management Band/ G1.
  • Availability: 15th April 2024.
  • Duty station: Nairobi (Kenya) or other country office where the Boresha project is implemented.
  • Reporting Line: Chief of Party.
