We’re looking for a passionate and empathetic storyteller to take the lead on an exciting new program inspired by Carpool Karaoke—but with a twist. As the Driver Stories Field Producer, you’ll interview Uber and taxi drivers to uncover their personal journeys, ambitions, startup ideas, and inspiring life philosophies—all while on the road.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-camera interviews with ride-share and taxi drivers during rides.
- Capture authentic conversations about the driver’s background, dreams, side hustles, business ideas, and life experiences.
- Prepare light research or prompts to guide meaningful dialogue.
- Operate or coordinate basic video/audio recording equipment (or work with a videographer).
- Collaborate with the creative team to shape the narrative and select the most compelling stories.
- Travel locally or regionally as needed to meet a diverse group of drivers.
- Ensure all interviews are respectful, culturally sensitive, and consent-driven.
Ideal Candidate:
- Has a background in journalism, filmmaking, podcasting, or community storytelling.
- Age 18-35
- Is an excellent conversationalist with a knack for making people feel at ease.
- Passionate about entrepreneurship, social mobility, and untold stories.
- Able to work flexibly and spontaneously, adapting to various settings and personalities.
- Bonus: experience with mobile video/audio production or vlogging.
