Position Summary

As the Global Institutional Giving Officer, you will play a crucial role in expanding and diversifying institutional funding for Equality Now across Africa, the Americas, the MENA region, and Asia. Reporting to the Global Institutional Partnerships Manager, you’ll be an integral part of the Development team, enhancing funding from foundations, bilateral, and multilateral agencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of funders independently, including stewardship of existing grants and renewals.
  • Support all aspects of grant management, including timely submission of reports, contract management, and donor liaison.
  • Coordinate proposal design and reporting processes, ensuring compliance with donor requirements.
  • Conduct research to identify and track grant opportunities and prospective institutional donors.
  • Lead outreach and cultivation efforts with potential donors.
  • Maintain donor files, update databases, and track key performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop funding opportunities and program overviews for donors.
  • Assist in capacity building efforts for colleagues in donor engagement, proposal development, and grant management.

Key Stakeholders

You will engage with internal teams including program, finance, and monitoring & evaluation colleagues, as well as external stakeholders such as donors, peer organizations, and local partners.

Measures of Success

  • Successful development of proposals and concept notes.
  • Grant renewals and new institutional income generated.
  • Identification and pursuit of funding opportunities.
  • Quality of reports and improvements in grant management processes.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Passion for social justice issues, particularly women’s and girls’ rights.
  • Minimum of five years of grant writing and institutional funding experience.
  • Fluency in English (additional languages a bonus).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fundraising databases.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to summarize complex ideas accurately.
  • Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfort with occasional international travel.
