Food Campaign Internship
Campaign Coordination & Support
- Assist in planning, logistics, and coordination of campaign activities (community engagements, learning exchanges, advocacy workshops, field visits, policy roundtables, digital campaigns, youth dialogues, and strategic webinars. etc.).
- Provide administrative and organizational support during events and field visits.
- Track timelines, partner commitments, and activity outputs.
Content Development & Documentation
- Support documentation of campaign activities through writing, photography, and data gathering.
- Draft summaries, meeting reports, and partner briefs.
- Assist in creating blog posts, social media content, and digital storytelling materials.
Research & Analysis
- Support background research including topics such as agroecology, seed laws, pesticide use, and food sovereignty in Africa.
- Compile and organize relevant studies, policy briefs, and media mentions.
- Monitor key events (COP, regional summits, etc.) for advocacy entry points.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communications
- Support outreach to allies, volunteers, and grassroots communities.
- Assist in organizing collaborative projects with farmers, CSOs, and influencers.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL)
- Support basic data collection and reflections from campaign activities.
- Assist in gathering feedback from partners and participants.
- Contribute to internal reports and learning sessions.
QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION
Education:
- A degree/diploma graduate in Agriculture, Environmental Studies, Development Studies, Political Science or a related field.
Skills & Experience:
- A strong interest in food justice, agroecology, and environmental activism.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and support community-based work and campaign events.
- Any prior experience (volunteer, academic, or personal) in research, writing, organizing events, or storytelling is a plus.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office/Google Suite);
- Social media awareness and understanding/openness to understand the African civil society landscape is desirable.
- Bilingual proficiency (English required; French an advantage).
Partnership Programme Assistant and Support Internship
The partnership assistant role will be to support the Strategic and Creative Partnerships team by undertaking certain tasks including and not limited to:
- Receiving all incoming partnership requests, update/capture these details into the requests database.
- Research organisations/grassroots/key influencers to gather all information and identify existing and past projects/events as well as potential risk.
- Support during event and activity planning such as the Climate Justice Movement launches in the various regions by actively assisting with the needs of the team such as various admin tasks; emailing, assisting with internal coordination of stakeholders, attending meetings, attending the events and information gathering.
- Capture all meeting notes and follow up on action points with guidance from team members.
- Fluent in English and French (both written and spoken) – to assist with interpretations and translation of documents such as; MOUs, project TORs and other documentation when required.
- Identifying opportunities for partner work on campaigns as well as independent projects.
- Compulsory attendance of all partnership meetings, including planning, strategic and feedback meetings as well as potential partner introductory meetings and Global online meetings if and when required.
- Must be based in one of the regions within the Greenpeace Africa network and where we currently have an office.
Job Description and principal accountabilities:
- General administration task to support the GPAF Partnerships team. The team focus is Strategic partners as well as Creative partners.
- Work closely with the team to provide timely data capture of incoming requests and data collection of information into all databases.
- Undertake to perform quick and important research and vetting of partners as requested by the partnerships team and be able to collect this data within existing workflows established.
- Support partnerships team in activity/event planning by setting up meetings with other stakeholders and to capture all meeting notes, action points and other business discussed.
- Send a weekly reminder of action points to the partnerships team for follow up and reminders to be actioned by the partnerships team.
- Assist with interpretations and translations of various agreement documentation such as MOU’s and TOR’s for all partnerships work
Human Resources Information Systems Intern (HRIS)
Internship responsibilities and expectations:
- Triage incoming requests in liaison with payspace support service
- Resolve tasks based on difficulty and priority
- Assisting in data audit, updates, maintenance, and validation within the HRIS system.
- Supporting the P & C team in troubleshooting issues and testing solutions.
- Participating in small-scale projects to enhance system functionality (e.g., improvements in performance Mgt system, taking up and suggesting other modules within the HRIS system ).
- Support in data analysis and provide insights for HR metrics.
- Extracting reports and analysing HR data for specific use cases.
- Helping to create user guides and training materials for internal teams.
- Assist in data audits and cleanup to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Create or update user guides and process documentation for HRIS procedures
Qualification and Experience
- Pursuing or recent University Graduate in Systems Engineering or its equivalent
- Languages: Fluent in English both written and verbal, French language proficiency is a great added advantage
- Experience with Google Business Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms) preferred
- Office software: PowerPoint, experience with Microsoft Excel and the use of formulas highly preferred
- Proven experience in development of an HRIS system or related as a school project or previous internship or work experience in supporting rolling out of an HRIS system
