Multimedia Journalist
The Multimedia Journalist is responsible for researching, producing, and publishing compelling stories across multiple formats—text, video, audio, graphics, and emerging digital formats—for Switch Media’s digital platforms and its clients. The role requires creativity, adaptability, and strong storytelling skills to create high-impact content that informs, engages, and grows audiences.
Content Creation & Reporting
- Research, pitch, and develop original story ideas across news, features, human interest, lifestyle, business, and education.
- Produce high-quality content in text, video, and visual formats tailored for digital consumption.
- Conduct interviews, gather multimedia assets, and ensure factual accuracy and fairness in reporting.
Multimedia Production
- Shoot and edit short-form and long-form videos using mobile journalism tools or video editing software (e.g., CapCut, Premiere Pro).
- Write clean, SEO-friendly copy for web and social media with attention to headlines and metadata.
- Collaborate with designers on info graphics, data visuals, and motion graphics where required.
Digital Publishing & Engagement
- Publish content to the website and social platforms, ensuring formatting consistency, tagging, and optimal presentation.
- Assist in live coverage of events, shoots, and breaking news situations, including live streaming and real-time social media updates.
- Monitor audience responses and engage users through comments, polls, and other interactive formats.
Client & Commercial Support
- Participate in creating branded content, sponsored stories, or client deliverables in coordination with the editorial and commercial teams.
- Ensure editorial quality is maintained while meeting client expectations and brief objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS.
- Degree or diploma in Journalism, Multimedia, Communications, or related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in digital or broadcast journalism with a multimedia portfolio
Graphics Designer
The Graphic Designer will create visually compelling content for Switch Media’s digital platforms, client campaigns, and marketing materials. Working closely with the Marketing /commercial executive and digital teams, the designer will produce graphics, animations, layouts, and branded visuals while also supporting content scheduling, publishing, and reporting tasks.
Creative Design & Content Production
- Design high-quality graphics for social media posts, digital ads, website banners, posters, infographics, thumbnails, newsletters, and presentations.
- Develop brand-aligned creative concepts for Switch Media content, TV shows, Switch Media School campaigns, and client products.
- Support video teams with graphic assets such as lower thirds, motion graphics, opening slates, and outros.
Digital Publishing & Content Management
- Work with the marketing executive to schedule and publish graphics and digital content across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, website, email).
- Organize content calendars and ensure timely rollout of campaign visuals.
- Upload and manage media assets in the content management system (CMS) and social publishing tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite, Buffer, Hootsuite).
Reporting & Analytics
- Monitor and track performance of posts and campaigns through analytics tools.
- Compile weekly and monthly reports on reach, engagement, and visual content impact.
- Recommend improvements to design and layout based on performance metrics.
Client Campaign Support
- Develop creative proposals and mock-ups for client presentations.
- Create branded assets for sponsored campaigns, influencer content, product promotions, and native advertising formats.
- Ensure consistency with brand guidelines across all client deliverables.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma or degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Digital Media, or related field.
- At least 2 years of professional experience in graphic or digital design (experience in a media or agency setting is a plus).
Social Media Editor
The Social Media Editor will lead and execute Switch Media’s content strategy across digital platforms to grow audiences, increase engagement, and drive monetization. The ideal candidate is creative, strategic, and highly skilled in digital storytelling, audience engagement, and performance analytics.
Content Strategy & Execution
- Develop and manage content calendars for all Switch Media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, YouTube, X, LinkedIn, website) and those of its clients
- Create and publish multimedia content (text, graphics, video) tailored to each platform.
- Collaborate with video producers, designers, and copywriters to produce engaging content for both internal and client projects.
- Ensure consistency of brand tone, look, and feel across all digital touch points.
Audience Growth & Engagement
- Drive organic growth through targeted campaigns, SEO/hashtag strategy, influencer partnerships, and trend monitoring.
- Monitor community feedback and lead audience engagement through timely and relevant responses.
- Analyze performance metrics to inform content decisions and optimize strategies for reach, retention, and conversion.
Client-Focused Services
- Manage social media campaigns and performance reporting for clients.
- Support content marketing efforts for TV shows, commercials, and studio hire promotions.
- Lead the development of digital strategies for new and existing client accounts.
Training & Institutional Support
- Support the Switch Media School by promoting courses, live sessions, and digital campaigns.
- Create tutorial content, student showcases, and thought leadership pieces.
- Help develop and mentor interns and students in digital best practices.
Revenue & Monetization
- Work with the sales and product teams to identify opportunities for branded content, influencer partnerships, and sponsored campaigns.
- Manage digital ad placements (Meta, YouTube, Google Ads) and performance-driven campaigns.
- Track monetization metrics across platforms (YouTube Partner Program, Meta Reels, branded content) and recommend new revenue opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
- 3+ years in digital content or social media management, ideally in a multimedia or broadcast setting.
- Proven success in growing and monetizing social media accounts and video content.
