  • Support country planning processes, ensuring alignment with the Inclusive Eye Health initiative.
  • Ensure project proposals include low vision/vision rehabilitation and meet quality standards for funding.
  • Analyze policies, trends, data & research in Low Vision to influence external environments and enhance CBM’s policies.
  • Train eye health and CBID professionals in provision of low vision/vision rehabilitation services.
  • Build capacity of CBM staff in planning, monitoring, and evaluating low vision/vision rehabilitation services.
  • Train Trainers to enable them to train professionals and caregivers in low vision/vision rehabilitation care.
  • Ensure quality assurance of Low Vision programs.
  • Develop, scale up, and document model programs to promote replication.
  • Contribute to identifying advocacy priorities and support data collation and analysis.
  • Support research to inform CBM’s work in Inclusive Eye Health, with a focus on Low Vision.
  • Assist the Inclusive Eye Health Director in presenting CBM’s work and added value in Low Vision.


  • Low Vision MSc or PhD degree.
  • 5-10 years working experience in a developing country.
  • Background in development cooperation with experience in relevant tools and methods.
  • Experience in networking, advocacy, and influencing with knowledge of global networks.
  • Understanding of disability-inclusive development.
  • Knowledge of key players and stakeholders in Eye Health, with a focus on Low Vision.
  • Experience in multidisciplinary and multi-cultural teams, operational research, and teaching/training.
  • Proficiency in English; French and Spanish desirable.
  • Good skills in MS Office.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Identification with the Christian values and mandate of CBM.
