Full Time, Fixed Term until 31st December 2024

Based in Nairobi with travel to LSTM Kenya programme sites

 

We are looking to appoint an experienced Programme Driver to join the International Public Health Team based in Kenya.

 

Under the supervision of the Finance and Operations Manager, this role will be responsible for operating and maintaining transportation vehicles with a focus on efficient and safe transportation of authorized personnel and/or commodities to ensure adequate and efficient logistical support to implement LSTM’s programmes in Kenya.

 

Key responsibilities are (but not limited to): Programme Driver 

 

  • Office and programmes support and Vehicle maintenance: Responsible for accurate maintenance of the vehicle log books; Overseeing safety of the passengers and/or goods therein; Maintenance of vehicles; Ensure that all regulations are followed in case of accidents or incidences; Input to the preparation of monthly vehicle operation and management reports.
  • Vehicle reports & records: Keep correct/proper and neatly recorded vehicle log sheets and submit to the supervisor on monthly basis for review, checking and feedback; Ensure that vehicle is used for the intended/assigned purpose; Monitoring of fuel consumption and report any irregularities.
  • Office support: Assist in Local Purchases; General office and administration duties, Storekeeping and maintenance; Filing and archiving of finance & procurement.

 

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work as an integral member of a multi-disciplinary, multi-national research team. You will be a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual who will be able to solve challenges as they arise. Ideally, you will also demonstrate:

 

  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grade of C or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Valid driving license and valid for any of the classes of vehicles which the officer is required to drive
  • Valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Kenya police
  • Extensive driving experience
  • Experience of working in a multinational or non-governmental organisation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to demonstrate a professional client-oriented approach
