The Transition and Recovery Pillar (TRP) of IOM Somalia focuses on community stabilization and disengagement, disassociation, reintegration, and reconciliation programs. These initiatives aim to address instability drivers, support the Somali Government and communities in building peace, and foster sustainable recovery. TRP works with marginalized youth, particularly in preventing violent extremism (PVE), promoting social cohesion, and supporting stabilization strategies at both federal and state levels.

Core Functions / Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring project activities.
  • Compile, analyze, and present project information/data for stakeholders.
  • Monitor budget implementation and propose adjustments.
  • Act as administrative focal point for project implementation.
  • Draft status reports, correspondence, and other project-related documents.
  • Organize meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Liaise with local authorities, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Monitor work of implementing partners and report any non-compliance.
  • Provide inputs for the development of Standard Operations Procedures (SOP) and concept papers.
  • Provide guidance/training and coordinate work of other staff.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Social Science, or related field with 4 years of relevant experience; or
  • High School Diploma in the above fields with minimum 6 years of relevant experience.


  • Experience in financial administration and procurement process.
  • Experience in program/project management, preferably in stabilization and conflict environments.
  • Effective coordination and communication skills.
  • Experience with UN or other international organizations preferred.

  • Analytical, communication, and writing skills.
  • Knowledge of project implementation.
  • Computer literacy, including database applications.


  • Fluency in English (oral and written) required.
  • Working knowledge of Somali is an advantage.
