Overview:

Embassy Nairobi seeks an ATA Operations Specialist exclusively for in-house applicants. The role involves coordinating all aspects of the Office of Antiterrorism Assistance (ATA) training, engaging with senior leaders, and assisting with capacity building efforts in Kenya. The position requires occasional travel to various parts of Kenya and odd working hours.

Duties:

  • Coordinate ATA training and capacity building efforts.
  • Engage with senior leaders and stakeholders in the Kenyan security sector.
  • Arrange training and conference needs, manage contracts, and negotiate agreements.
  • Participate in the development of a digital dashboard management system.
  • Work closely with the Resident Program Manager (RPM) and ATA HQ to plan and coordinate training courses and events.

Qualifications and Evaluations:

Requirements:

  • Five years of experience within law enforcement and investigative work.
  • Deep understanding of police/law enforcement culture and gaps in capabilities within the National Police Service/law enforcement.
  • Knowledge of basic police tactics, terrorist threats, and Kenyan law.

Education Requirements:

  • University degree in Security, Law Enforcement, Criminology, Law/Legal Affairs, or Psychology.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to conduct sensitive investigations and handle evidence.
  • Proficiency with computer software programs.
  • Valid, current Class C license for cars and small trucks for a minimum of five years.
