Job Summary

CARE’s Women’s Economic Justice (WEJ) team impacts over a million people across 40 countries annually with economic growth interventions focused on women and girls. The Technical Advisor, Economic Analysis, WEJ, will advance measurement and strategy through economic analysis, analyzing programmatic and cost data to scale impactful interventions for women’s economic justice. This remote role requires candidates to work in Nairobi or other African countries and possess work authorization.


Economic Research and Learning

  • Lead quantitative modeling on project outcomes through cost-benefit analysis and cost-effectiveness analysis.
  • Conduct evidence and literature reviews, interpret findings, and engage with colleagues and experts to validate model design.
  • Collaborate with global and country finance and project colleagues to analyze financial and cost data.
  • Build evidence for CARE’s gender-transformative economic growth programming.
  • Advance work in cash benchmarking through data synthesis.

Country Office Support and Capacity Building

  • Ensure adoption of measurement standards for economic and gender metrics.
  • Support country and global teams in implementing economic analysis and cash benchmarking.
  • Serve as a resource to deepen measurement approaches and expand impact in women’s economic justice programming.

Partnerships and Thought Leadership

  • Produce reports, analysis, and data visualizations.
  • Manage research partnerships and ensure timely research outputs.
  • Collaborate with marketing, communications, and thought leadership teams.
  • Survey external approaches to gender-transformative economic analysis.

  • Master’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Strong training in economic analysis methods.
  • Thorough grounding in program evaluation methods.
  • Strong familiarity with theories and programming for gender equality.
  • 7 or more years of experience in international development or related fields.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Professional fluency in English.
