The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) invites applications from qualified individuals to fill 2,014 teaching vacancies that have arisen from natural attrition across Kenya. Successful applicants will be appointed on Permanent and Pensionable terms.

Kenya Sugar Board (KSB) is Hiring Field Enumerators for Growers’ Elections

The Kenya Sugar Board (KSB)—re-established under the Sugar Act No. 11 of 2024—is seeking qualified and community-rooted individuals to serve as Field Enumerators in support of the upcoming Growers’ Elections.


ABOUT KSB

KSB is a state corporation under the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, tasked with:

  • Regulating and promoting the sugar industry

  • Enhancing production, processing, and marketing of sugar

  • Collaborating with sugar millers, farmers, and stakeholders to improve sector efficiency


POSITION: FIELD ENUMERATOR

Main Objective: To register, verify, and update records of sugarcane growers ahead of elections for board representation.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Verify authenticity of sugarcane grower documentation

  • Register eligible growers at designated polling centers

  • Update farmer details (e.g., phone numbers, location, ID corrections)

  • Map growers to appropriate polling centers

  • Ensure neutrality, transparency, and confidentiality

  • Report disputed or irregular cases to supervisors promptly


REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

GEOGRAPHIC & COMMUNITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Residency: Preference for candidates from or near the assigned areas

  • Local Knowledge: Familiarity with roads, polling centers, and communities is advantageous


SELECTION PROCESS

  1. Shortlisting

    • Based on qualifications, local suitability, and prior experience

  2. Oral Interviews

    • To assess communication skills, local knowledge, and ethical orientation

  3. Practical Simulation

    • Live demonstration of grower registration and document verification

  4. Mandatory Virtual Training

    • Topics include:

      • Electoral ethics and neutrality

      • Use of mobile tools and data protection

      • Grower eligibility and polling procedures

      • Escalation and reporting protocols


CONTRACTUAL TERMS

  • Short-term contract

  • Region-based field deployment

  • All enumerators must commit to full engagement during the registration period
