The US Embassy in Nairobi is looking for an experienced and diligent Custodial Team Leader to oversee and perform a range of custodial duties within our premises.

Position Overview

Title: Custodial Team Leader
Salary: KES 91,989 – 162,821 per month
Location: Nairobi, Kenya

As the Custodial Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our premises, encompassing a substantial 400,000sqft of floor space, are maintained to the highest standards. This position requires coordination and hands-on involvement in cleaning and upkeep duties, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for staff and visitors alike.

Core Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and perform comprehensive custodial tasks, including but not limited to vacuuming, dusting, window cleaning, and the maintenance of kitchens, waiting areas, and restrooms across the embassy.
  • Oversee health, safety, and cleaning services, ensuring all procedures and standards are met with excellence.
  • Regularly inspect facilities to assess the quality of cleaning services and provide constructive feedback to the Custodial Supervisor, setting and monitoring standards and targets.
  • Manage supplies and equipment, liaising with custodians to ensure all materials are in stock and concerns are addressed promptly.
  • Maintain ongoing communication and coordination with embassy staff and customers to ensure service delivery meets or exceeds expectations.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven working knowledge of equipment, products, chemicals, and detergents used in the custodial industry.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Internet, and Outlook) is essential.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to safely use all custodial cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Strong supervisory skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both supervisors and subordinates.
