Context

The MSF Academy for Healthcare focuses on strengthening the skills and competencies of frontline healthcare workers to improve the quality of care provided in countries where MSF intervenes. The Academy’s approach emphasizes on-the-job training and competency-based learning. As part of this initiative, a curriculum is being developed to enhance the competencies of Hospital Ward Supervisors, aiming to strengthen their management skills and overall effectiveness in overseeing hospital wards.

Main Responsibilities

  • Finalize the competencies framework for the Ward Supervisor curriculum, considering input from stakeholders.
  • Analyze existing training materials and identify relevant content.
  • Develop comprehensive content for the curriculum, including learning pathways, theoretical dossiers, and training session plans.
  • Create evaluation processes to assess learner progression and training impact.
  • Define mentoring strategies and tools based on needs assessment findings.
  • Participate in developing Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) frameworks for the training program rollout.

Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or midwifery, with at least 5 years of hospital nursing/midwifery experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a supervisor or managerial position, including 2 missions with MSF in Africa or the Middle East.
  • Pedagogical experience is preferred.

Competencies:

  • Strong document development skills.
  • Meticulous and precise.
  • Capacity to work within agreed timelines and prioritize tasks.
  • Creative with active learning methodologies.
  • Ability to work autonomously and problem-solve effectively.
  • Proficient in computer skills.

Languages:

  • Fluency in both English and French (oral and written), with excellent command of English required.

Conditions

  • Expected starting date: As soon as possible
  • Contract type: Fixed-term, full-time
  • Contract duration: Estimated at 8 months
  • Salary and conditions will adhere to MSF standards.
  • Position open to candidates with previous experience with MSF.
