Overview

The Project Administrator will ensure the smooth operation of the Restore Africa project by providing administrative, operational, and budget management support. This role involves coordinating with various units within CIFOR-ICRAF and project leadership to ensure cost-effective operations across project countries.

Summary of Responsibilities

Planning and Coordination:
  • Provide administrative and project management support.
  • Coordinate major project missions and meetings.
  • Support development and tracking of project work plans.
  • Liaison with other units to ensure timely task delivery.
  • Prepare regular status reports and identify execution bottlenecks.
Budgeting and Budget Management:
  • Monitor budgets and expenditures.
  • Contribute to budget planning and revision.
  • Ensure budget compliance and forecast financial needs.
  • Coordinate budget reallocation exercises.
  • Support financial updates, reports, and audits.
General Administration:
  • Organize workshops, events, and travel arrangements.
  • Ensure quality administrative services delivery.
  • Maintain up-to-date project assets register.
  • Provide administrative support for contract management and procurement.
  • Manage information dissemination and documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business/Public Administration/Project Management or relevant field.
  • PMP certification is advantageous.
  • Three years of relevant work experience in a comparable international organization.
  • Experience in NGO or international organization environment.

Personal Attributes and Competencies

  • Strong event and travel organization skills.
  • Proficiency in project management and office administration.
  • Computer literacy with MS Office tools and web-based management systems.
  • Results-oriented with resource and risk management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written.

  • This is a locally recruited position with competitive remuneration.
