Database Administrator (Remote/Hybrid)
The Database Administrator (DBA) will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s databases to ensure security, availability, and performance. He/She will be responsible for managing database systems, troubleshooting issues, and supporting development teams with data needs. This role is ideal for an analytical, detail-oriented professional who enjoys problem-solving and ensuring critical business systems run efficiently.
Key Responsibilities

Install, configure, and upgrade database software.

Monitor database performance and optimize queries to ensure efficiency.

Manage database security, backup, and disaster recovery processes.

Ensure data integrity, consistency, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly.

Work with developers to design and optimize database schemas and queries.

Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations and processes.

Support data migration and integration projects.
Must-Haves
-
Strong knowledge of SQL and database management systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MS SQL Server).

Experience in database backup, recovery, and performance tuning.

Proficiency with database monitoring and management tools.

Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Valued Experience

Certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Microsoft Certified Database Administrator.

Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions (AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL).

Knowledge of NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or Redis.

Experience in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

Previous experience in high-availability and large-scale database environments.
