Database Administrator (Remote/Hybrid)

The Database Administrator (DBA) will oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s databases to ensure security, availability, and performance. He/She will be responsible for managing database systems, troubleshooting issues, and supporting development teams with data needs. This role is ideal for an analytical, detail-oriented professional who enjoys problem-solving and ensuring critical business systems run efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and upgrade database software.

  • Monitor database performance and optimize queries to ensure efficiency.

  • Manage database security, backup, and disaster recovery processes.

  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly.

  • Work with developers to design and optimize database schemas and queries.

  • Maintain detailed documentation of database configurations and processes.

  • Support data migration and integration projects.

Must-Haves

  • Strong knowledge of SQL and database management systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MS SQL Server).

  • Experience in database backup, recovery, and performance tuning.

  • Proficiency with database monitoring and management tools.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Valued Experience

  • Certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Microsoft Certified Database Administrator.

  • Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions (AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL).

  • Knowledge of NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or Redis.

  • Experience in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

  • Previous experience in high-availability and large-scale database environments.
