About CDTD

The Center for Domestic Training and Development (CDTD) is a women’s rights NGO focused on promoting the rights of domestic workers and providing protection services to vulnerable women, young girls, refugees, and victims of human trafficking. Our programs are dedicated to shelter provision, rescue services, and preventing violence against women and girls (VAWG).

Position Overview

The Programs Intern will support CDTD’s initiatives in preventing and responding to Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV). This role involves assisting in program implementation, advocacy, awareness-raising activities, and providing support to victims of trafficking and vulnerable women and girls.

Key Responsibilities

Program Support

  • Assist in planning and implementing SGBV prevention and response activities.
  • Coordinate trainings, workshops, and community outreach programs.
  • Help monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SGBV interventions and activities.

Awareness and Advocacy

  • Create and disseminate educational materials on SGBV prevention.
  • Develop content for social media, newsletters, and other communication channels to raise awareness on SGBV issues.
  • Support NSN in implementing activities that promote gender equality and SGBV prevention.
  • Participate in trainings, workshops, and advocacy actions.
  • Create and share content for events and activities, such as the 16 Days of Activism on social media.

Data and Information Management

  • Map and disseminate information on rape hotspots.
  • Maintain a 24-hour hotline for immediate service access, referrals, and safe shelter for callers.
  • Collect, analyze, and disseminate data to support national referral mechanisms and policy-making processes.
  • Compile and update a database on shelters for shelter mapping.

Rescue and Referral Services

  • Identify and refer SGBV survivors to appropriate services, including medical, psychological, and legal assistance.
  • Manage a 24-hour hotline to provide immediate support and referrals for SGBV survivors.
  • Coordinate rescue and shelter services for victims of trafficking and vulnerable women and girls.

Partnership and Network Building

  • Foster relationships with existing and potential shelters to enhance program development.
  • Lobby with policymakers and advocate for legal policies and shelter provision for SGBV victims and survivors.
  • Participate in designing and implementing standards and guidelines for shelter registration.
  • Collaborate with the State Department for Gender and the Collaborative Centre for Gender Development on shelter mapping.
  • Connect with state and non-state actors for resource mobilization and advocacy for SGBV cases.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Develop quality monthly reports, track project progress, and ensure timely implementation of activities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all activities and interventions.
  • Perform other duties assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Community Development, Gender Studies, Social Work, or related field.
  • Previous experience (1-2 years) in women’s rights issues or SGBV prevention is an advantage.
  • Strong commitment to women’s rights and gender equality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage and analyze data effectively.
  • Proficiency in using social media and other digital communication tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
